Scott James X-Factor 2009 Contestant

Scott James is a contestant in the 2009 X-Factor contests. Scott auditioned for the first time last month in front of X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh in Manchester.

Scott's X-Factor performance impressed the judges, and since then Scott has successfully made it through to the boot camp stage and his place in the final 50 of the ITV talent show.

What makes Scott James's achievement all the more impressive is that for most of his life Scott has been afflicted with Asperger's syndrome. due to the condition Scott has barely been able to leave his home for some 7 years, but managed to gather the courage to make it to the Manchester auditions last month.

In front of the panel of X-Factor judges, Scott performed the hit Westlife track 'You Raise Me Up', which left the judges speechless.

Scott's first audition even impressed the notoriously hard to please X-Factor judge Simon Cowell. Simon was so impressed with the performance from Scott that he halted further auditions so he could go backstage and congratulate both Scott and his vocal coach on the performance.

After getting the thumbs up from the X-Factor judges following the Manchester audition, Scott was put through to the next round of auditions - the X Factor Boot Camp.

The X-Factor Boot Camp comprises of only 50 contestants that have all had successful previous auditions, and who now have to battle it out each week to keep their places.

The X-Factor Boot Camp involves a 2 week stay away from home, where the contestants live together and hone their talents. Despite the initial fears that this would be tough for Scott, he continues to impress the judges with his renditions of Katy Perry's Hot 'n' Cold and There You'll Be by Faith Hill.
